Cleaning Instructions for bags and mobile cases.
Clean inside or outside by wiping or rubbing with a cloth that has been dipped into warm soapy water. Leave to dry away from direct sunlight.
PakRak Clip-on
Luggage System With PakRak clip-on bicycle luggage you'll have no need for cumbersome straps or bungee cords. Nothing is easier, or more convenient than the PakRak integrated system. Just clip a PakRak bag to a PakRak carrier and ride. Ibera has a variety of bags, baskets, panniers and compatible carriers.
What is the advantage of the PakRak clip-on system?
With the simple press of a button (or lever, in the case of panniers) you can attach or detach a PakRak bag or basket to a bicycle carrier. This is a faster, neater, and more convenient solution than strapping bags to a carrier.
Are PakRak products compatible with other brands of carriers and bags?
PakRak is designed as an integrated system: (carrier + bag). PakRak bags and baskets are NOT COMPATIBLE with non-PakRak carriers. PakRak carriers however, are compatible with a range of conventional luggage items that can be strapped to bicycle carriers. Just do not exceed the carrier’s maximum weight limit.
I already have a carrier (non-PakRak); can I just buy a PakRak bag and clip it on?
No, the clip-on system requires a PakRak bag and a PakRak carrier. The PakRak carrier may look like other carriers but it is built to particular specifications that allow Ibera PakRak bags to be mounted on them.
Can I use an Ibera PakRak bag on other carriers (non-PakRak)?
No, the clip-on system requires a PakRak bag and a PakRak carrier, though it is likely that you can strap a PakRak bag on a conventional carrier, though that defeats the purpose of an easy clip-on system doesn’t it?
Can I strap conventional bags, boxes or other luggage to a PakRak carrier?
Yes, you can carry anything that you can carry on a conventional carrier by tying it on. Just do not exceed the carrier’s maximum weight limit, or allow anything you carry to dangle or get in the wheels or drivetrain.
Do PakRak panniers use the same clip-on mounting system as PakRak bags and baskets?
No. PakRak panniers clip-on, but Ibera uses a different system for panniers.
Can I use PakRak panniers on other carriers (non-PakRak)?
Yes, you can. They are compatible with PakRak touring carriers (frame-mounted), and most other brands of touring carriers.
Can I use panniers on seatpost-mounted carriers?
No, you need a touring (frame-mounted) carrier like IB-RA3.
How do I mount a PakRak rear carrier? The PakRak carrier is installed in exactly the same way as any other carrier. There are two basic types: frame-mounting, and seatpost mounting. For frame-mounted rear carriers, read the instructions that came with your carrier. You can also watch this video. For seatpost-mounted carriers read this.
How do you mount a rear carrier on a bike frame without brazed-on eyelets (mounting holes)? Most people use fasteners like loop clamps, available at many bike stores and hardware stores. Use coated or cushioned loops so as not to scratch your frame. Ibera does not supply these. More info: More info & photos
Why did my PakRak bag fall off my carrier?
Under normal riding conditions this should not happen. Possibly your bag was not clipped on correctly. The rear clip must fully engage with the 'lip' of the carrier. That means that once clipped in, the latch button must be fully out (flush with button recess). When engaging it is helpful to push down gently on rear of bag or basket. IMPORTANT Always make sure bag is attached securely to carrier before use. Refer to the instructions that came with your PakRak products.
I am having difficulty installing my PakRak seatpost-mounted carrier to my seatpost?
Follow these instructions. This supersedes the instructions that came with your carrier:
Supplied Parts 5 mm Allen bolt, rubber shims x 2
Tools Required 5 mm Allen key
1. With Allen key loosen clamp bolt on carrier and open clamp. (Loosen bolt only enough to unfasten hinged clamp – it is unnecessary to completely unscrew bolt). 2. Position clamp on lowermost section of seatpost – directly on end of seat tube. Close clamp. 3. Depending on diameter of your seatpost, you may need to insert one or both of the supplied rubber sizing shims to achieve a tight, secure fit. Insert shim/s between clamp and seatpost. If shim has one rough surface, that should face seatpost. 4. Align carrier lengthways with bicycle frame, tighten Allen bolts very firmly.
For users of IB-RA1
This carrier is adjustable lengthways. This function is useful, for example, if your bag is too close to rear of your seat. To adjust you will need a 4 mm Allen key. 1. Unscrew two Allen bolts on underside of carrier. 2. Slide carrier frame along carrier shaft to reposition. 3. Retighten bolts firmly
If you have yet to buy a carrier, you can consider a seatpost-mounted like the Ibera PakRak IB-RA1. Seatpost carriers however are only suitable for fairly light, top carried loads. They are not for carrying panniers.
The release button on my PakRak bag is running rough, (or dirty or stuck)?
Probably grime or dirt is wedged between the button and its recess. Push the button in and release several times in secession. If this does not fix the problem, place the bag under a tap (water faucet) and trickle water on the button area while pushing and releasing button until the button operates smoothly. Shake the bag vigorously to remove excess water, then dry it with a cloth.

Handheld Cases with Bike Mount Clip-on cycling cases for mobile devices: Smartphone, Cell Phone, MP3 Player, Camera, Two-way Radio, GPS etc. Carry a handheld securely on your bike where you can hear it, access it easily, and keep it away from corrosive sweat. All cases are available with StemClamp or BarClamp attachments.
• Clip-on to stem or handlebars
• Protects device
• Use with earphones
• Use on or off the bike
What is the difference between the StemClamp and the BarClamp? The StemClamp mounts on the bicycle stem. The BarClamp mounts on the bicycle handlebars and is also capable of carrying other items as well as your handheld.
What other items can the BarClamp carry? That depends on the model/configuration of the product. Once you have chosen a handheld case, you can select from 2 BarClamp configurations:
Q1 Bar-mounted Handheld Case Included: Case + Bottle cage mount
Mounting options: Cage & bottle (not supplied).
Q2 Bar-mounted Handheld Case & MiniBar Carry handheld & bike accessories on handlebars.
Included: Case + Minibar
Mounting options: Headlight, bike computer, bell etc. (not supplied).
What is the "Minibar"? The Minibar is part of the Q2 BarClamp mount. It is the ideal choice for cyclists who have run out of handlebar space yet still need to attach an accessory. The Minibar is a short extension bar (22.2 dia.) that allows you to attach a headlight, a bike computer, or bell etc.
Which case is for iPhone? The IB-PB3 is designed for the iPhone 3 and iPhone 4. You may have to remove any skin or cover from the iPhone first. The IB-PB3 is also compatible with many other smart phones.
Which Ibera case fits my XXXX phone? There are hundreds of handheld devices available: phones vary from country to country, and models are coming on and off the market all the time. Sorry, apart from the iPhone, we cannot give you specific handheld device/case compatibility information. What we can give you is the maximum dimensions of a device that an ibera case will hold.
First, determine the dimensions of your handheld device by checking the user manual, the company's website, or by measuring it yourself.
Then, check our Handheld page for individual case holding dimensions, or our Case Comparison chart. Keep in mind that these dimensions are a guide only – Ibera cases are not rigid, and in many instances a handheld that is somewhat smaller than our given dimensions may still fit quite snuggly inside the case.
And you can always visit an Ibera retailer to try your handheld for fit before you buy.
Can I use Ibera mobile device cases on a motorcycle? Yes, you can if you have the BarClamp mount. You can attach it to anything that has handlebars or some other kind of round bar with a diameter between 22.2 mm–31.8 mm: bicycles, exercise bikes, baby strollers, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, … etc. But beware, BarClamp may not withstand the vibration of motorised vehicles such as motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and you will void your warranty.
Can I carry a GPS or walkie talkie in an Ibera clip-on case? You can carry whatever mobile device you can fit into any of our cases: Phone, MP3 Player, Camera, Two-way Radio, GPS etc.
Can I use Ibera handheld cases for off-road riding?
Ibera handheld cases and bike mounts are quite tough but they are not designed for off-road use or rough riding, and neither, perhaps, is your expensive mobile device.
Are your cases rainproof?
At this stage we don't have a rainproof model. We do however have one in development. We hope this will be available later in 2011. Details will be announced on this site.
Top
Tube Bags Triathletes prefer top tube bags because they sit behind the stem reducing wind resistance, and offer easy access to energy gels and snacks on the fly. These benefits are available to all cyclists, plus you can carry a wallet, keys, sunscreen etc., most of what you need for fine weather, short bike trips.
These simple bags attach with straps to the top front end of your bike and the stem. Some Ibera models come with rain covers.
Seat Bags Stylish under-saddle bags for all kinds of bikes: road, MTB and folding.
Are seat bags the same as saddle bags?
Yes, same thing. A bicycle seat is often referred to as a saddle. However because the word 'saddle' brings to mind a horse saddle, we prefer to call them seat bags to avoid confusion with bicycle panniers, which actually are very similar to horse saddle bags.
Do your seat bags clip-on?
Some of our bags use a combination of a clip and strap. Others just use straps.
Water
Bottles
A range of water bottles for cyclists including the Coolhead insulated bottle, and the Hothead thermal bottle.
Bottle Care & Cleaning
Wash new bottles before use. See Washing Bottles below.
Do not fill to the brim.
Care
When Using Hot Liquids
Keep bottles full of hot liquid out of reach of young children. Be careful
when using hot liquids as they can scald. Never drink very hot liquids directly
from the bottle spout.
Can I use the bottle using a microwave?
No, never put your bottle in a microwave oven.
Washing Bottles
Ibera bottles have a wide mouth so cleaning is simple. Wash the inside of the
bottle with a bottle brush, warm water and dish detergent. Use a small bottle
brush to clean the inside and outside of the cap and spout. If your bottle
has a spout or opening that can not be reached with a bottle brush, fill
the bottle with soapy water, put the lid on, and squirt or pour water through
the spout. Rinse several times, and drain to air-dry. Bottles are dishwasher
safe at low temperatures.
It is always easiest and best to wash bottles
immediately after use. If a bottle has been left for a period
of time after use without cleaning, you may need to soak it in
warm water first before washing. If using bottle for liquids
other than water, pay particular attention to cleaning.
Are bottles dishwasher safe?
Yes, bottles are safe in the dishwasher at low temperatures.
Storing Bottles
To prevent mould, store bottle with the lid off. Always wash before use.
Coolhead
Insulated Bottle (IB-WB2) The Coolhead insulated bottle
keeps drinks cold for longer.
How long will Coolhead keep water cool or warm?
There are many variables involved in answering this question, but the two most important are: 1. the temperature of the water when it is poured into the bottle; and 2. the ambient temperature (surrounding temperature). In our lab tests; at an ambient temperature of 20ºC (68ºF); water at 1.5ºC (35ºF) will still be a cool 14ºC (57ºF) after two hours.
Will Coolhead keep my drinks warm as well as cool?
Yes, Coolhead is just as effective at keeping drinks warm. But do not put boiling water in the bottle. Let hot liquid cool to about 70ºC (158ºF), before pouring in.
Can I put drinks like sports drinks, juice or coffee in the bottle?
You can add any kind of drink, just DO NOT add liquids that are hotter than 70ºC (158ºF).
Can I add ice to Coolhead?
Certainly. The Coolhead has a wide mouth opening, so adding ice is easy.
Can I freeze water in the Coolhead bottle?
Yes you can, but be sure to leave at least 1.5 cm (2/3")
space in the bottle as the water will expand as it freezes.
Because it is an insulated bottle, it will take a little longer
to freeze than a standard plastic bottle. Don't drop a frozen
bottle that is just out of the freezer as it will be far more
brittle than normal and may crack.
Does Coolhead meet FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) standards?
Yes.
What materials is Coolhead bottle made from?
The inner shell is made from PP (polypropylene / recycling no. 5). The outer shell is made of LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene / recycling no. 4).
Hothead
Thermal Bottle (IB-WB3) [Discontinued product] Hothead thermal bottle keeps
drinks hot for hours.
What is different about the Hothead Thermal
bottle?
Most thermos' are not designed for cyclists - they are not sized to fit water
bottle cages. This makes carrying a thermos on the bicycle frame inconvenient
at best. The Ibera Hothead fits open-fronted cages, like this one, plus it comes
with a holder that is mounted on the bike frame just like a cage.
Can I use the Hothead bottle with a standard
bottle cage?
Yes, but not with all cages. Because of the attached carry handle, you can
only use the Hothead with open-fronted cages like this one. Also, we do not
recommend using the Hothead bottle in metal cages as metal tends to scratch
the bottle more than plastic or carbon fibre cages.
How can I get the best results from the
Hothead bottle?
For hot drinks it is best to preheat the bottle. Fill the bottle with boiling
water and leave for a few minutes. Empty, and immediately add the hot drink
of your choice. For cold drinks, pre-cool the bottle by filling it with ice
water and leave for a few minutes. Empty the bottle then add your cold drink.
Can I remove the carry handle?
The handle is not meant to be removed. It is bolted and bonded to the bottle.
Caution
The cup may get hot on the outside when using for hot liquids.
Bottle Cages Whether you use an Ibera water bottle or not, we have a cage to suit your hydration needs: aluminium, titanium, and our unique Fine Tune Fully Adjustable bottle cage.
Fine
Tune Adjustable Cage (IB-BC4) The innovative bottle cage that works
with more bikes, more bottles: featuring Tilt Loading
and Width Adjustability.
Will it hold a soft drink
or juice bottle? Yes, but it depends on the size and shape of the
bottle. Bottle diameter must be between 63–73 mm. Bear in
mind it may not be as secure in the cage as a bicycle bottle.
Can I carry coffee in a disposable
cup in the Fine Tune Adjustable Cage?
Yes, probably, it depends on the size and shape of the cup, but it may
not be very secure in the cage so you do not want to ride on rough roads!
Caution
The Fine Tune cage is not designed for rough conditions: do not use for off-road
riding or stunt jumping.
